The Community Counselling Program provides one-to-one, short-term supportive mental health and substance use counselling to individuals age nineteen and over in a confidential setting. Individuals can name goals, discuss personal issues and develop plans to meet their self-identified needs.
This Community Counselling Program allows flexibility to accommodate individuals that may face barriers that prevent them from accessing counselling.
The service can also provide referral for alternate and additional supports as necessary. Additional resources can be made available to clients in need such as food cards, bus tickets, child minding and vocational supports.
The Community Counselling Program is supported by the Community Action Initiative, in partnership with the BC Ministry of Mental Health and Addictions and the BC Ministry of Health.
The program aims towards helping people reach their full health potential and helping to ensure that they are not disadvantaged in attaining it because of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, age, social class, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation or other socially determined circumstance.
