Harvest Farm is an organic farm run by Salt Spring Island Community Services. It is located within the abundant Burgoyne Valley Community Farm, owned by the Salt Spring Island Farmland Trust.
All of the produce is grown for Community Services’ programs such as the Food Bank, Harvest Kitchen Café, Harvest Farm Stand, Harvest Home Meals or the several community “free” fridges stocked by SSICS around the island for low-income households.
Among others, the farm is staffed with summer students, volunteers and the vocational development program, SuccessWorks.
SSI Community Services and Harvest Food Programs have developed as a result of the generosity of the Philip and Muriel Berman Foundation as well as many other local donors and volunteers.
