Services for Pre-Natal, Infants and Toddlers
Family Place is a resource and drop-in program centrally located in Ganges Salt Spring Island, offering a safe and well equipped indoor and outdoor play area, a variety of drop-in and scheduled programs and courses and a range of resources for parents and caregivers of children under six.
The center provides resources, information and parent education opportunities to support healthy and happy families. The facility offers a comfortable playroom, library, sitting area, kitchen, counselling offices, toy library and clothing exchange. Our programs welcome all parents and caregivers of children aged 0 – 6 to enjoy the warm space and community resources at Family Place.

Education
A variety of free programs are offered during mornings, afternoons and some evenings including:
Stay & Play Drop-In: A parent-child drop-in program for families with children ages 0 – 6. Come for a bowl of soup, a snack and play time, connect with other families and access information about community resources and referrals.
Parent-Child Mother Goose: For parents and their babies and young children to focus on the pleasure and power of using rhymes, songs and stories together. Please join us for singing, snack and play!
Dad ‘n’ Me Pancake Breakfast: Join other dads, grandpas, and uncles for a free pancake breakfast and playtime with your kids. Saturday mornings 8:30 – 10:00.
Putting Kids First; Co-parenting Through Separation and Divorce: A program that supports parents through the process of separation/divorce to develop a respectful, collaborative co-parenting relationship.
Triple P (Positive Parenting Program): An 8 week program introducing skills to approach parenting in a positive way that is preventive rather than reactive.
Pre-natal Education Class: A series of relaxed, fun and interactive classes to support new parents on their journey through pregnancy, childbirth and the early weeks of parenthood.
Island Infant Circle: A circle of support for parents and babies in their first year featuring guest facilitators on infant health topics.
