This summer Island Community Services Counsellors will be offering a Transition to High School group.
The group will support young people starting grade 8 in the fall, who are struggling with isolation due to lack of peer connections and experiencing anxiety, depression or neurodiversity. Students with educational designations and IEP’S are most welcome to join.
Through group discussion, psycho education, engaging activities and local outings, participants will have the opportunity to learn more about themselves while forming connections with other youth who will be making the high school transition at the same time.
Monday’s group will be for female identified participants from 12pm-4pm.
Mondays, July 28-August 25 (no group august 4)
Wednesday’s group will be for male identified participants from 12pm-4pm.
Wednesdays, July 30-August 27
The group will meet on the third floor of The Core building at 134 McPhillips Avenue (wheelchair accessible elevator) and the last ½ hour of every group will be spent in the Youth Drop-in on the main floor of the building.
The groups are free of charge and food and drink will be provided.
