Shelter Worker

Term: Casual
Hours of work: No Guaranteed Hours after Training
Wage Range: $28.46-$31.57

The Shelter Support Worker is part of the team running the Shelter. Responsibilities include ensuring safety and compliance with shelter rules, assisting with conflict resolution, monitoring the behavior of shelter users and enforcing rule violations. The worker maintains a welcoming environment by engaging in positive and supportive interactions with shelter users. Duties include meal service and clean up, housekeeping such as disinfecting touch points, mopping, bathrooms, laundry and other general cleaning.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

1. Diploma in human services or a related field.
2. One (1) year recent related experience working in caregiver or support worker role.
or) an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
3. Current First Aid certification
4. Criminal Record Check at Hire
