There are many seniors living on Salt Spring that do not have family close and able to help out as they age. The Better at Home program works to fill this gap.
Island Community Services is now hiring more Better at Home Contractors to support seniors with tasks like housekeeping, yard work and friendly visits. Contractors make an hourly rate and receive remuneration for gas/mileage.
Better at Home service providers are assigned seniors with whom they work directly, in the seniors’ homes, and are part of a team of caring service providers who meet monthly for mutual support. This is a part-time position with flexible hours.
