Harvest Food Programs – Casual

Island Community Services is looking for a flexible, motivated individual to join our Harvest Food Programs team. This casual position offers the opportunity to gain experience in several areas of our food programs, including:

Harvest Kitchen: Our kitchen operates more like a catering kitchen than a restaurant line. We prepare meals for the emergency shelter, weekly community lunch, Harvest Home Meals, Harvest Kitchen Café, and other ICS programs that need food.

Harvest Kitchen Café: Our social enterprise café cart sits right beside the Harvest Kitchen in Fulford it serves delicious coffee, drinks, sweet and savory snacks, breakfast, and lunch. Proceeds support our Harvest Food Programs and community food security.

Driver Role: The driver delivers meals, transports produce, and collects donations and food reclamation from local grocery stores and farms.

Please note, this is a casual position.

Education/Training/Experience
1. Graduation from an institutional cooking/culinary arts program and one year of recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
2. Valid BC Driver’s License
3. Level 1 Food Safe Certificate
4. Ability to Lift 50 lbs
5. Current First Aid certification
