‘In From The Cold’ at the Salt Spring Film Festival

Premiering at the Salt Spring Film Festival on March 5, 2023, 2:30 PM

Official Selection Salt Spring Film Festival 2023Produced by Salt Spring Island Community Services and made possible with the generous funding of SPARC BC, In From the Cold invites viewers into the worlds of the people living homeless or insecurely housed on Salt Spring Island. Residents and service providers on Salt Spring discuss their experiences of homelessness, shedding light on the unique challenges and opportunities in rural communities.

In a place where the homelessness rate per capita is several times higher than that of metro Vancouver or Greater Victoria and where the services available in urban areas are largely unavailable and in some cases, inappropriate for rural communities,  In From the Cold is a look at the struggles people face when there is simply no place to be.

Filmmakers and film subjects in attendance: Kajin Goh & Rob Grant and  members of the Salt Spring community.
