GivingTuesday 2021

GivingTuesday is the world’s largest generosity movement.

It was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good:and has since grown into a global movement, unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world.

GivingTuesday is a time when Canadians, charities, and businesses come together to celebrate giving and participate in activities that support charities and non-profits; to thank, help, give, show kindness, and share what they have with those in need. Every act of generosity counts.

The pandemic has brought unique economic and social challenges for our island communities.  As a key provider of mental health support services for children, youth and adults, our services have been critical and responsive to the growing needs of the community. Services to support the homeless population have continued to stretch to meet the needs with the Housing First team working to support people in finding and maintaining housing security in an increasingly urgent housing crisis.  Food programs have remained a central service in response to the needs including home delivery to vulnerable individuals and families.

If you are making a donation this GivingTuesday, please consider giving to your local Community Services, providing essential services to our community for over 45 years.
