We will receive $20,000 this year to enhance the Family Place program capacity to support families with children with special needs, and families with children who may require assessments to determine their special needs.
A significant aspect of this service will be assisting with the navigation of systems and facilitating connections with resources such as public health, Queen Alexandra hospital and other specialists.
Johanna and Colleen, our Family Place staff, have determined that approximately one quarter of the families attending our early childhood and family support programs will be eligible and likely to benefit from this new level of service.
