Island Community Services is looking to fill the following summer positions for youth.
Positions are open to individuals between the ages of 15 to 30. Please note that priority will be given to; youth who have not previously been employed and for whom this would be their first job experience; BIPOC youth; youth with disabilities; and youth who are early leavers of high school. Please indicate in the cover letter if you are a Priority Applicant.
Position 1: RECYCLE DEPOT WORKER
The Recycle Depot at 349 Rainbow Rd., operated by Island Community Services requires youth to work full time (35 hrs/wk) at $20.00 per hour. This job involves working outdoors at the recycle depot sorting materials and other activities pertaining to sustainable waste management. Safety equipment and training supplied.

Position 2: SPECIAL NEEDS ACTIVITY WORKER
Island Community Services Summer Program for children with Support Needs and Autism requires students to work full time (30hrs/wk) at $20.00 per hour. This job involves working with children age 5-18 with developmental disabilities and/or Autism. Duties include engaging the children in recreational activities, art and music programs, helping the participants access the community, navigate interpersonal relationships and manage behaviours as needed. There is training provided, but experience working in a camp setting and supporting people with Special Needs and Autism is a plus.
