Over 1,000 pieces of art come in for adjudication from which our Jurors select close to 400 for the Show

17th – Wednesday Emily Carr House and Ross Cemetery Walk – Lunch
Ross Bay Cemetery opened in 1872 and at 11 hectares (27.5 acres) is one of Canada’s oldest and largest surviving
Victorian cemeteries.. It overlooks Ross Bay and has quiet, parklike setting with winding carriageways and a formal
landscape design which includes pine trees, Spanish Fir, Rocky Mountain white fir and cork-bark elm and Japanese
flowering cherries.

25th – Thursday Coco’s Café (great food at great prices) and Nanaimo Shopping
COCO Cafe a social enterprise that is proud to provide employment opportunities for people with developmental
disabilities. In 2017 COCO offered over 8900 hours of gainful employment for 15 individuals with varying
disabilities. Our goal is to provide 10,000 hours of supported employment in 2018 and 12,000 in 2019.

29th – Monday Royal BC Museum Egypt – The Time of the Pharaohs
Be among the first in North America to see this staggering exhibition’s priceless ancient artifacts, such as the coffin of
Nakht, an exceptional bust of Hatshepsut and an ornate gold and garnet necklace from the Ptolemaic period.
IMAX 45 minute shows – The Story of Earth – 12 pm Mystery of Egypt 11am or 2pm Oceans Our Blue Planet 10am or 1pm.
