Under the direction of the Kitchen Coordinator, the Harvest Kitchen Cook prepares meals and baked goods and participates in the operation of the cooking facilities. Duties will include start to finish preparation of meals as well as all necessary cleaning and organizing tasks required to keep the kitchen operating.
The Harvest Kitchen is a program providing nutritious meals for various other programs operating within Island Community Services. The kitchen works in collaboration with the Harvest Café, the Harvest Farm, the food reclaim program, the Emergency Shelter and the Harvest Home Meals program which delivers prepared meals to seniors in their own homes.
Hours of Work: Permanent 25 hours/week
Wage Range: $25.55 – $29.26
Education, Training and Experience:
• Grade 10 education;
• Graduation from an institutional cooking/culinary arts program;
• One year of recent, related experience;
• Level 1 Food Safe Certificate
or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
