For the past number of years the groundskeeping and landscaping at SSICS sites has been blended with the community gardening operations. As our gardening and food security activities have increased this has been more challenging.
This year we will revert back to having these functions separated and groundskeeping and landscaping will be contracted out to another individual or company. We will expect that person(s) to interact with our programs to some degree so that groundskeeping work experience may still be available to participants in our vocational development program.
An initial step will be to contract with someone to do a spring clean up at the main site, Hereford, and Murakami Gardens.
