School-Based Counsellors

School-based counselling provides primarily one to one service for family support and specific psychosocial interventions for children and youth.

Service is provided to Phoenix High and Gulf Islands Secondary School in partnership with School District 64 and school staff at Gulf Islands Secondary School. Counsellors work in schools and the community.

Service is aimed at students aged 11 to 19, and their families, who live on the Southern Gulf Islands and attend school on Salt Spring Island. These students may be experiencing emotional or behavioural issues that limit their ability to function successfully within the school system.
